Career question - need to find path?

I have a BS in EE. from a really good school. Not so good GPA. I work as an Engineering tech. , started as a tech. since I just wanted to get my foot in the door. I am applying for a TE or a PE position. Long term goal is MBA which I want to start w/in next year. I have 3 yrs experience at my company. Is PE better than TE for MBA? Also, \if I don't get either job, should I just quit and go to MBA school fulltime? Do you need to have a good position before applying for MBA? I have a really great personality and work ethic to offset GPA. I am also very business minded. Can I go to a different field from Engineering if I need to later on thru MBA?

Answer:
Your GPA really shouldn't be an issue anymore. If you like engineering, stick with it, get a real engineering job and do the MBA on the side. Most engineers aren't great at managing people, so with an MBA you could do a lot for the field if you stick with it.
I think if you like the business aspect...go for your MBA. And yes you can go to a different field than engineering when you get an MBA. But just be ready for the responsiblity of managing...if you like the tech stuff, just stick with it...the MBA won't help you...get a masters in EE.
