I ve a techie question. Regarding tensile tests in materials. I wish to monitor the temperature of my sample?

How do I monitor the temp of a pariticular point on my sample constantly? using pyrometers

I would use a handheld optical infra red thermometer similar to the ones on the link below, also in the links below is one for an optical pyrometer you will then need to just devise a simple stand to hold it in the correct position to monitor your test point. What exactly are you looking for, simply the shear point verus temp , are will you be looking for compositional changes will you be using an Scanning Electron microscope .are you applying heat only to one point on the sample is this why the point of measurement is so critical, just curious
Try using a thermocouple. Easy cheep reliable simple.
