Difference between ac and dc?

Answer:
AC = Alternating current
DC = Direct current

If you look at an A/C power line on an oscilliscope, you see that the voltage goes from negative to positive in a sine-wave manner. If the line is 60 hertz, you'll see 60 waves per second.

D/C on the other hand is just a constant flat line at whatever voltage you have. It doesn't change over time.
AC is alternating current and the current follows a sinusoidal [sine wave] wave, the voltage changes direction. In UK mains the frequency of this oscillation is 50Hz [so the current changes sign 100 times a second]. In the USA I think the frequency is 60Hz.

DC is direct current and the current stays in the same direction all the time.
dc - direct current. Electricity all flows in one direction.

ac - alternating current. It goes in one directionad then switches and goes the other direction
AC means Alternating Current. It reverses it's polarity periodically.
DC means Direct Current. It doesn't reverse it's polarity.
The wave form of AC looks like waves but the wave form of DC is a straight line.

ac - alternating current
dc- direct current
You know that for a circuit you need two wires which are positive and negative.For an alternating current (AC),the polarity +ve and -ve are getting changed with a clean interval.That is when one wire is positive then the other one will be negative and again it is changed as positive into negative and negative into positive.But for a direct current (DC) the polarity never gets changed.Example the battery connection in automobiles.
AC=alternating current. It changes its polarity periodically.
DC=direct current.Its polarity remains same...
ac=alternating current
dc=direct current
these r 2 types of current behaving oppositely to one another
Ac is alteranting current...ie their is a sinusoidal change in phage..
Dc is dirrect curent...unidirectional flow...DC controlled motors r very speed specific..& thus DC is used in railaways..
DC current also used in small power devices loke mobile & walkman etc.
