The only way you can actually travel into the past is to break the speed of light and travel into the cosmos. Then you are traveling into the past.

8. don't allow arch enemies to steal time machine for selfish means
9. trains can be used in place of deloreans in a pinch
10. bring extra plutonium in trunk in case you get stranded somewhere in the past.
I'm not trying to be a pesimist.but I racked my brain over this issue for DAYS before realizing that it simply cannot ever realistically be done.
If It were able to be done, you'd only be able to travel foward in time never being able to travel back in time. I would think you'd have to try and find a wormhole and then use a vessel that's powerful and strong enough to push you through.
I'd definitly help you figure it out though, if I were confident it was possible :).

Your best bet is to take a heap of acid so that you can think outside the box. Write down all the ideas that come to you and follow up all your discoveries when you get out of it... if you do! Just joking, NO...
You can't go back in time because all that really exists is the actual moment you are in, think about it. Now, now and now. It is nice to entertain the idea in your imagination though. Good luck, if I were you I would more focus on shaping your future rather than trying to go back into the past and chage things. Sorry to burst your bubble with a reality check.
Yes. This way would only SHOW you the past. Travel out from Earth faster than the speed of light with a very sensitive TV set. As you go you would be able to tune into the electromagnetic signals we generate and maybe even the reflected images of events here on your Super TV. Thus you could 'visit' the past. How to get faster than light? Eat lots of baked beans.
The easiest way is to plan that when you do invent a time machine, you will go back in time and tell your self how to build it. In fact, I suggest that you plan to go back to July 11, 2007. Did you meet your self yesterday? did you tell yourself how to build the time machine? no? well, then it might not be possible.
