Is the cubicle inevitable?

I'm getting my undergrad in bioengineering and I desperately want to avoid the cube (or even spending all my time in an office, for that matter). Do I have any hope?

Answer:
How can you look at bikinibabesdotcom if your not safely sheltered in your cube?
Life in a cube isn't bad, as long as you have a good support network, a good shrink, lots of cold beer, and a steady supply of Prozac.

Oh, and about the TPS reports... did you get that memo?
You could get a job in a laboratory.
Everyone has to pay dues. what makes you different? you have distinguish yourself from the rest of your peers. i think you'll do fine. just be grateful you have prospects.
Work for a small company. They don't have herds of employees to rustle into cubicles all day long.
Life's uncertain. Bioengineering is a very good field. You can't give up just because you end up in a cubicle. Many MITians end up in a cubicle job. But, that's the process to the top. You can't expect to be a CEO straight away. Have patience. It will take you a long way.
Asking this question on Yahoo isn't going to help curb your fear.
