Foxhole Radio?

I was wondering when you build a foxhole radio what is the best type of wire to use? And also is the wire bare or is it insulated? Does it matter how thick your cardboard tubling is like could you use a paper towl roll and what king of razor blade do you use?

Answer:
Wire=lacured relay wire, razor blade must be metal/metal oxide (blue blade) However it is easier to use a germanium diode(easy to find/cheap) than trying to find the spot on the razor blade.Easiest is to take coil out of old radio along with the ger, diode and use a quartz type earpiece presto your done parts avalible in most any trash pile.
