Egg drop contest: I need to be able to drop an egg 30 feet (see details for restrictions)?

For my project i have to drop an egg from a 30 foot tall building with no padding or parachutes. Materials that we are allowd to use are cardboard metal wood plastic and string. Must weigh less than 100 grams so metal is out of the question.

try something like making a cube frame out of the wood and get creative or use a lot of string to suspend the egg in the middle. make the box big enough so that the egg has plenty of 'air room' and just a tiny bit of slack in the string so it has some bounce room...but not enough to hit the frame or the ground when it hits.

oh, and any kind of lightweight alloy would be a good metal idea if it's available. usually pretty cheap and would make a sturdier frame than wood...just a thought though.

Get a ball of hard floral craft foam, cut it in half, hollow out a pocket for the egg, and rubber band it together.
