What is difference between 1" and 5" total station survey instrumnet...?

what is difference between 1" and 5" total station survey instrument. Please let me know the advantages and disadvantages over each other?

Answer:
A 1" total station can read angles to a higher degree of accuracy than a 5" instrument. This would obviously give the 1" instrument a tremendous advantage. However, with the improved accuracy comes higher cost. The amount of accuracy you need depends on what you will be surveying with the instrument. If you shooting things that don't need the accuracy of a 1" instrument, it would be a waste of money to invest in it. Engineers often have a tendency to "measure with a micrometer, and cut with an axe."
5 is in advantage, its greater !
