What is the difference between a decoder and demultiplexer?

it is related to digital electronics

Answer:
The difference is in what they were intended to do, even though the logic gates are similar. A multiplexer is used to transmit lots of data on the same wire. An encoder is used to compress data or secure it. Logically the encoder is simpler, having fewer inverters.
