What is the purpose of the steel arch on the new wembely stadium. Is it purely for the athsetics of the place?

or does it serve some useful purpose.?

yes its just to give an individual look , (or for fathers for justice to climb up , tee hee..!!)

It holds the roof up!

I cant answer the question,but it looks very ugly to me,like an uneven egg basket !

It takes 100% of the weight of the roof on one side and 60% on the other. They interveiwed the architect before the match on Saturday.

I to have wondered that point. Look at other new stadiums around the world and you will see that they all have one.
