What substance can be used to see air flow in a low flow vacuum?

Answer:
Smoke.
Do you have a smoke bomb left over from thee 4th of July? An heating/air conditioning supplier might be a source too, as they use these in their job.
The best substance I know of would probably be low-density particulate ash or by using a smoke machine adapted for use in a low-flow vacuum.
Burn a ping-pond ball wrapped in aluminum foil and use the smoke from it. Try not to breathe. Do it outside where you cannot start a fire. Be very careful.
