What is the difference between computer engineering, and computer science.also where does software engineering come in, i thought it was basically the same thins as computer science.

Answer:
computer engineering builds the hardware, computer science builds the systems, software engineering designs the programs.
Not necessarily.

Computer engineering is more the idea of designing, Engineering processes. Which could include the incorporation of some hardware.

Computer science is just programming
In general engineering is applied science.

In practice there is a lot of overlap between the two but computer engineering is taught by people with a background in engineering and computer science is taught by people with more of a science background.

I believe that the connection between electrical engineering and computer engineering probably results in a greater emphasis on math in computer engineering than in computer science.

The sources below suggest that there is a closer association between computer engineering and embedded systems than between computer science and embedded systems.

Ultimately professional engineers are governed by professional engineering societies.
