What is meant by "nominal atmospheric pressure"?

Answer:
The more proper term is "normal" atmospheric pressure and it's equal to 101325 Pa = 1 atm.

See link for the (historical) reason why this particular number was chosen (in 1954).
Usually 14.7 psi or 760 mm Hg. These are the equivalent official sea-level pressures on a calm sunny day. On any given day, the pressure may vary due to water vapor in the air, temperature, etc. However, "atmospheric pressure" is needed for many calculations and, unless other conditions are specified, we use the "nominal atmospheric pressure"
1.01325 bar.
