Can I run a gaming system off a car battery with an inverter connected to it?
Answer:
It depends on how much power the gaming system requires. If it needs lass than 750 watts, your inverter should be OK. If it needs more, you need a bigger inverter. You probably can't get 1500 watts out of your inverter for more than a very brief time like one second. You probably can't get more than 750 watts for any useful time. At 750 watts, the battery will be discharged fairly quickly. If you completely discharge an ordinary car battery very many times, it will wear out.
Does "The end of the inverter would be stripped off and wrapped around the end of the car battery." refer to the method of connecting the inverter to the battery? Inverters that are designed to operate from care batteries usually have a plug that fits into a car's cigarette lighter socket. You can buy a socket for that plug with clips to connect to the battery. They should be available at a lot of places where car accessories are sold. I think Radio Shack may have them.
Maybe for a few minutes.
