Just go for journels to know the places where the current research in going... Try your project in that... Surely that will be innovative and it will helps you till you do phd...

You must consult with your project guide teacher before you select a project. He certainly has many idea about feasible
topic . Selecting completely unknwon topic will put you in problem later on . you have to do search in journals on the topic as your guide suggests within a schedule time and rediscuss with him with your findings . The topic about which maximum information is available, choose that .. Do as you are advised.
