Split Unit Air Conditiner?

What are the symptoms that the strainer is not working well/ failed / clogged? When do we change it? What are the steps taken to change the strainer? Is there any web site that can guide to the above?

Answer:
Symptom - musty odor coming from the condensate area.

Solution - have a plumber get rid of the old draining system and replace with modern draining system with a u-tube which keeps constant pressure in the system and prevents clogging.
Symptoms are: low air flow, condensation on the inside unit (when cooling) sometimes even freezing on the inside unit.
When you open the lid usually you can see the strainer is clogged or dirty.
changing: this vary from one model to the other, new models have washable strainer, you just open the lid take out the strainer and wash it in the bath. In older models has you have to buy new strainer and replace it, ask in your local AC repair shop they usually have these spare parts.
