Should I go into welding?

I know there is dangers of the fumes and stuff but is it worth it, or is it just too dangerous of a job?

Answer:
It pays well enough if you go union, and you're good at what you do. Welding is one of those professions where you're limited only by your talent. If you can strike a really good bead, consistently, quickly, and make strong welds the first time every time, you're gonna get paid a lot. Of course, if you can't...then...you can't. There's only one way to find out, and if you practice then you'll succeed.

There's also a number of specialties that you can pursue within welding, whether you do sheet welding, pipe welding, suspended high-rise welding, or even underwater welding. If you do something like that, and you're good at what you do, you can set your own rates.
