A question for oilfield drilling professionals.?

With a 38 ton TDS strung up on ten lines. Is this enough weight to do away with the fast line guide (spooler)?

Answer:
No even though you really have enough weight to string the line on the spool when you have weight on it when you go for another stand you will throw a kink in the drill line when you go for another stand because the block still has the same weight empty. I f the hydromatic is engaged it will travel farther in the coast mode if you are on a hydralic rig then it doesnt matter . the rig onle goes so fast & it never reaches the speed to cross the drillline. that has been my experience of 27 years .
