Answer:
- - mechanical pencils rule--I run out of eraser - that's my problem. When nobody is looking, I still use those fist - sized erasers that so many of us kept in "pencil pouches" like back in second grade:)

Yup, everyone uses mechanical pencils these days.
when i am teaching we do b/c the kids aren't allowed to have mechanical pencils. at home, though, use pens or mech. pencils as well. interesting questions!
i tried using my old crank one the other day and it mangled my pencil, so i searched the house for a nice solid mechanical. it's the way of the future
It's okay, my grandparents were still watching VHS's last year until I introduced them to the technological world of DVD's and Blu-rays. I wonder if my grandmother still has her record player...

Can I pet the cat?

I haven't seen a pencil sharpener in years, mechanical pencils only

I'm an artist so I deff do use pencils due to thier diff types of led for shading ect. It's alot easier to do loose art with them because you can wear down the tip, while I do use mechanical pencils for writing when I can. It gives it a nice clean crisp feel. But wow-now that I think of it, it's been a while since I've seen an electric pencil sharpener.
But I must be stone age because I use a small manual one! lol!
I recently used this one to sharpen a carpenter's pencil.

Still use color pencils for mark-ups, so the old sharpener survives.
Some times. By the way, I have a pencil sharpener here on my desk that looks like an ink bottle, however, while I do sometimes use wood pencils, I do not use a quill or fountain pen.
