I am involved in the design of a Flight Management System as of now. I mostly work with airborne application, before the FMS it was a weather radar and before that it was Infrared Search and Track. Mostly aviation sensors and their algorithms.
The job is good, safe, lucrative and there is a long term future as I see it.
