Do you think bran muffins raise the coefficient of friction of your intestinal tract?

Answer:
Even if the bran fibers were to somehow create microscopic abrasions in the villi, they would heal themselves back to 'smooth' lined villi, so the increase in friction would be temporary.

Because the villi are flexible, I doubt there could be any micro-abrasions in the first place.
