there's no such thing as too old here in canada, not like in other countries, if you are qualified somebody will hire you. if you want to practice engineering here you should apply for the membership of the association of professional engineers and you will be given an exam if they will approve your experiences and studies.

You're too old to settle in a new country with all new atmosphere. I think no company would hire someone nearing their retirement age to work in a foreign land. You have to go there on your own money and pray to god that something happens. Why would someone want to go there at this age anyway? I mean your son or daughter should take you there to live with him/her by now.
There is a large number of companies willing to hire qualified foreign workers, NO MATTER their age. Yesterday i read about an agency that does this task: helping immigrant qualified and experienced people like you get a proper job. They help engineers, doctor, scientist and other people doing minor jobs below their level of education.
Im so sorry i cant give you the name of the agency. I just cant remember it, but the article was published just yesterday in the main page of MSN Latino. E-mail them and ask them about that article and thay might just help you.
