actually i wanted to do engineerin in biotech but there r only a few good colleges offering this course..unfortunalety i could not clear iit -jee.so can someone tell tht a chemical engineer can further do m tech in biotech esp genetic eng..

It sounds like your field should be biomedical engineering. It applies engineering to the human body, you can do mechanical, electrical, chemical, any elective.
Good schools for the field are johns hopkins (jhu.edu), CWRU (case.edu), and harvard (harvard.edu).

Most of biotech processes are actually chem eng unit operations and processes.
Genetic engineering involves techniques that are different from the core chem eng techniques. Still, the discipline of chemical engineering is sufficiently multi-disciplinary to be useful as an entry to biotechnology activities.
