I just bought a ti-84 plus silver should i return it and get a ti-89?

im going to be taking trig. and pre-cal pretty soon but im also going to be taking more calculas classes as well as physics and engineering courses i plan to be a computer engineer.
Another thing is that i dont know if teachers would allow students to use the ti-89.

please help

Answer:
it all depends on just what you want to use it for...and the scholl you plan on going to. My high school was pro-TI products, but my college was strictly HP for engineering classes. Most of the lower math classes involved some programs in the TI, and most the the prof's used the TI 84 or 86, especially in statistic..and even in geometry.I now use a TI-89 titanium in my professional carrer (structural engineer)...no, you cant use it on the licensing exams, but it works great for programs in designing.
you cannot use the ti-89 on the SAT or ACT
Most teachers (in my experience) allow anything with out a QWERTY keyboard (ie no TI-92) or do not allow calculators to be used in the class. I own a TI-89 and it helped tremendously during my undergrad days.
