Answer:
Electronic Instrumentation Technology is a rather vague term. Are you specializing in the design and maintenance, or in its integration into current equipment systems?
Generally without an actual master or bachelor's degree, most people would end up in the 'technician' field-that is maintenance and repair of existing equipment or systems.
Certification on many forms of equipment is usually required, but that is provided through and by the manufacturers of the equipment. You would need a job as a technician or repair person to get that trainig as its usually through the employer that the training is offered.
THe kind of jobs you can look for are military (intelligence-gathering systems{spying electronic equipment} or through private companies that do the same thing. Hospital maintenance equipment-somebody has to repair the blood pressure machines (dynamaps and pulse-ox equipment) and certify it is current and accurate. You could checkm into maitenance of MRI and X-ray equipment-but that is usually a manufacturer-supplied service (siemens and GE com automatically to mind).
You can conmtact these companies directly and ask then where you should place your focus.
What type of equipment interests you?
And remember- it still takes a technician to work on and repair radiotelescopes. The job may not pay all that well, but think of the travel and of course-the work.
