Define "national" because we don't know where you are.
I know enough to advise you not to drink your tap water. They pump it full of unneccisary chemicals like fluoride, send it through dirty pipes and out of your tap. My tap water gave me headaches and dry red skin until I got a filter installed which was definately worth it.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I think It's different in ever state.
UK ? its the Water Research Council and they have a list of approved materials for contact with wholesome (potable) water
as you live in the UK as do I, the government decided to add fluoride t our water ages ago as it helps strengthen our teeth even though in large doses it can be harmful.
