Why are ALL microwave ovens rectangular shaped?

You know a traingular microvave would fit on small counter tops with limited space. Does it have to do with energy efficiency?

Answer:
Maybe it's because a rectangular prism gives more volume for a given area when stuff like raw materials for the microwave oven are put into consideration.
I have had a look around on the net and came across nothing, perhaps you could have the microwave oven built in to save space. I know that you can get get 'mini ovens' or multi type ones so maybe this...

Sorry I couldn't help really
wow . . . .omg good question!. . . . . . .uuuuu it might be the only shape that distributes the micro waves correctly inside so the food is evenly warm
No reason you can't Maybe you should start making them :)
A rectangular prism has the most efficient use of space compared to perhaps a triangular or hexagonal prism. A rectangular shape is also easier to fix in the common kitchen space (imagine trying make a spherical oven steady on your counter).
Reasons for shape:

Cost to manufacture
Has to fit lots of shapes, including rectangles, and cylinders.

I think there is little of the efficiency that has to do with the shape, unless you are talking efficiency of using cash on forming tools. Human tools are all about rectangles.
a round one would roll off and break
It only has to do with what shape fits in your kitchen, nothing scienfic about it.
