What does G (the symbol for conductivity) means?

Answer:
Conductance
G = 1 /R
the 'G' does not stand for anything

ie. it is the inverse of resistance
and it is measured in siemens (S)
it used to be measured in mho = ohm backwards

Conductivity is measured in siemens per meter
g means the Kronecker symbol
