When do you think we will see household robots like honda's aismo?

Answer:
Never.

The idea of a human-looking and acting robot is mostly stupid. There may be a few small uses for such things, as toys etc. But at the end of the day, we will always be much better of with a robot built specifically for a job - no fancy AI or knowledge of how to walk etc.

Eg. a robot with wheels is much easier to build, runs into less problems, and is generally more adaptable than one with legs.
Long way off... they're cool but can't do anything practical yet and aren't autonomous to the point where they can deal with random stimulus.

In the meantime, buy a Roomba.
i dunno that but i don think id want one of them around, mayb id like to have one in my office to do the paper work n get the faxes from the fax machine and take my copies n stuff.. but at home?? naahh..
20-30 years
Soon--they are already in some people's homes as a sort of test.
When I will have my Ph.D...so let's say in 12-15years.
