What is panel wiring?

i see lots of jobs for panel wiring, do normal people call these jobs something different?

Answer:
My Dad runs a business making control panels for things like conveyor systems, welding systems, paint systems, etc. The panel wiring jobs are just that -- you get paid to wire the panels up. You basically get a panel (a flat piece of steel) with a bunch of electronic components on it, and that panel sits inside an enclosure that's basically a big metal cabinet. The cabinet has wire receptacles with huge bundles of numbered wires, and your job is to connect the wires to the electronic components by matching up the numbers and looking at the schematic. It's not a tough job once you learn how to do it, but it takes a long time and can get very monotonous. Pretty sure most people in the automation controls business refer to these jobs as "panel wiring" jobs.
exactly as sarge says:
panel wiring is the job of working in the assembley workshop of a control panel manufacturer and wiring the internal interconnecting cables within a control panel before it is shipped out to site.
an electric panel, is an enclosure that electrical components are installed in. if you open the distribution box in your house you will find some electrical components. they arw wired in a certain way, showen on the drawing most of the times attached on the panel door.
people who do this job are called panel wiring technicians.
its a very boring job, unless latter on u get involved in designing, and commissioning those panels.
