How can i possibly estimate the manpower requirements against work duration?

Answer:
Figure your manpower hours per day and multiply times the number of days. If you have the total man hours required, the number of men per day would depend upon the duration of the job.
By studying to be a quantity surveyor and building contractor, there are no shortcuts if you don't want to pay for expert advice.
u must first estimate the capacity of one manpower in one unit time.second estimate total quantity of work
for exaple one person works 10 meters in one day and total work is 100 meters.
then u can calculate this:
work duration =total quantity of work/(quantity of manpower*capacity)
