MatH problems? need ImmeDiate response...from math wiz.?
1) Michael has an average speed of 15 kilometers per hour when riding his bicycle.
How far can he cycle in 4 hours? if he cycles for 4 hours a day, how long will it take him to travel 1500?
2)Sara drove 385 kilometers on 4 hours. if she drives at this same rate without stopping, how far will she travel in 12 hours?
3) A car going 60 miles per hour is traveling 88 feet per second. How can you use this infornmation to compute the number of feet in one mile?
thanks For stopping by!
Answer:
15 km/hour*4hours=60km
1500km/60km/day=25 days
385 km/4 hours = 96.25/hour *12 hour = 1155km
60 miles/hour *1hour/60min*1min/60sec=1/60 mile persec
1/60 mile = 88 feet
1 mile = 5280 feet
1
S = vt = 15*4 = 60km
he can cover 60km in one day, and so 1500/60 days = 25days
2) 385*3 = 1155km
3) we can say that it is going at 316800feet/s and thus:
60miles = 316800feet (the s^-1 cancels)
dividing by 60 gives
1 mile = 5280 feet QED
15 k/h X 4h = 60k 1500k / 15 k/h = 100h 100h/4 h/d = 25 d
385/4 = ?/12 12x385 = 4x? ?=1155
60m/h= 1m/minute 88f/s X 60 s/min.=5280 f/min=5280 f/mi
