Can someone please help me find the dimensions of my paper boat I have to build?
The ideal weight of the boat should be about 10 pounds.
The man weights 215 pounds.
Sitting down, his length is 48 inches.
Sitting down, he sits 24 inches tall.
Sitting down, his width his 26 inches.
His arm length is 31 inches. From his elbow to his hands the length is 20 inches.
The cubic feet of water is 62.5 pounds
From this information, what is the ideal dimensions of the boat so that the boat can float in water and so that the person can reach his hands in the water and paddle with his hands?
Answer:
As of now I cant supply you the dimensions but if you email me or IM me at circarocker06@yahoo.com I might even be able to give you a rough drawn plan and set you on the right track.
There isn't really an "ideal" design. To keep the boat from capsizing, the center of gravity of the man must be lower than the center of gravity of the boat (basically means he is sitting). Draw a diagram showing him sitting, where his center of gravity is, and make the boat big enough around him so its center of gravity is higher than the man's.
