I am in a college of Engineering with IT as my branch, I have got a chance to shift to CSE should i go ahead.?
Answer:
Both the courses will see you in college for 4 years. Life lies further ahead. Picture yourselves 10 years from now, would you be happy programming? Then go for IT. Or is it HW design, go for CSE?
No matter what, engineering is about problem solving and you seem to be incapable of solving the first one. So get a nice sleep, decide on what you want and make the choice. This is not to be asked of the internet because answers might be prejudiced.
Picture yourself atleat 10 years from now, and you should be happy then.
I'd recommend hardware engineering over software. Software engineering is too easy to ship overseas to the cheapest country-of-the-moment (India now, probably Bangladesh next, then who knows?)
I'm taking building systems engg. tech. because when a refrigerator breaks you need someone HERE, not in Nepal (for example), which provides a lot of job security.
branch? as in tree or are you in a bank?!
Are you trying to say that you are in College or University and studying Computer Engineering?
It is called your major!
You are majoring in Computer Science!
At any rate, figure out what do you want to do in the computer world- job satisfaction, pay,etc...
My friend,my suggestion is to continue with the subject you get interest. Its not worth depending on others suggestion that may lead you to a frustating stage. You take as per your own choice where you get interest and fully concentrate.
I taught engineers for over 25 years, and I was often asked which of two or three fields was the better one. My uniform answer, and my answer to you, is: choose the field that interests you the most and in which you will do the best work. While certain fields may be "better" than others for a variety of good reasons, you will succeed best at what you enjoy doing and are good at. My two cents, and worth every penny!
YES
i say you shift to CSE, because cs has more prospects.
I find many product & technology companies ask for CS ppl. But find out as you say IT in ur college is a blend of EC(it is not in most universities).
