What Tools Will I Need?
Answer:
Do not buy any old tools a good set could save your life and last a life time. Buy the very best you can afford that comply with EN60900 specification for safety. See Screwfix.com and note the range of items that have 5 star `Electricians Choice' rating. You need to consider the type of wiring you will be doing, if you are working on heavy power cables you totally different tools than for domestic work. At the least you need 3 screw drivers large and medium and small standard flat type, and 2 Phillips headed large and small, snipe nosed pliers, cable cutters, wire strippers, a set of cable rods, cable drawing tape, hammer fibre glass handle. Then you need power drills and accessories again the best you can afford go for DeWalt, Bosch or Makita but do not buy these until you know more about the job as they should be supplied by your employer.
Keep the money in a bank and wait for the course or apprenticeship to start. You may need a multimeter, insulated pliers etc., but why hurry now?
