Reed Switch?

Do they sell simple reed switches at hardware stores? If not where would i find one?

Answer:
I think Internet is the best place for you to find what you want. Try look into Amazon.com and Ebay, they'll save you a lot of time to find and to worry where to buy them.
never saw them in hardware stores nor do i find them at radio shack, although i dont look there often. i would go with the following
http://www.digikey.com
http://www.mouser.com
http://www.alliedelec.com
http://www.newark.com
http://www.futureelectronics.com...
Radio Shack in the US. Maplins in the UK.
