A fence 8ft tall runs parallel to a tall building at a distance of 4ft from the building.?
Answer:
16.648
I'll give you a hint. Use trigonometry to develop a function, then calculus to find the minimum of that function.
The answer is the inverse tangent of the cubed root of one half, or in code form:
arctan( (1/2)^(1/3) ) = 16.648

Missing a key number. How tall is the building or how far from the fence is the ladder?
Do ur own homework kid...
P.s. I think it would be 12. idk
it would be a 4 ft ladder
12 feet, straight up the fence and then straight toward the wall.
You would need a ladder 18 feet long. If you place the ladder 4 feet from the fince and it touches the top of the fince the measurement is 17'6" but they don't make a ladder this length.. Ok the ladder is 8 feet from the building and touching the top of the fence. How much of the ladder is above the fence, and at what height on the building does the ladder touch? Measure the triangle, The triangle is 8' by 17 1/2 feet by what? You need to learn to do this. If there were a $100.00 bill on the side of the building could you figure out how tall of ladder you would need to get it. I bet you could. You will need things like this math problen sometime during you life.So listen learn and study, if you wont the rewards life has to offer.I see by the answers here no one wonted to help you, I'm a grand Pa and I like helping kids
