What is pulse stuffing or bit stuffing in time division multiplexing?

time division multiplexing is the process of sending 2 or more signals simultaneously through a single channel.

Answer:
When you're transmitting and receiving asynchronous data, you need a way to align the data, so to speak. This can be done by inserting additional noninformational bits at predetermined locations in the data transmission packet.

The receiver is informed of which bits are the stuffed bits. Those are removed, and the original message is restored.

Wikipedia has a more in-depth description, as well as types of bit-stuffing operations.
