Why have many Ultra high voltage transmission lines been converted to lower voltages (500kv or lower)?

Answer:
Transmission lines are in high voltage level (500kV, 230kV..) for economy and efficiency of delivery from power plant substation to another substation or distribution point. The voltage is then converted down to lower voltage level through transformers until it became useful for household and commercial consumers (440V, 220V, 110V..)
by the way..i'm not kidding coz i'm a transmission line engineer myself..oki..c",)
more voltage can damage appliances. And high voltage contains low current which is very low for our home.
