How to free a stuck pipe using acid?
Answer:
NO!!
what do you mean stuck??
try using some WD-40 to loosen it up.
its a penetrating oil
try using a wrench with a longer handle.
the longer the handle, the easier it will be to turn the pipe.
but, be careful , if the pipes surrounding your pipe
are not strong enough you could crumple them.
Try using anti-rust or some oil instead of acid. Try vibrating it also.
Assuming you are trying to unscrew a pipe which is threaded, be careful. Depending on the type of material, the pipe could be very thin and may break before unscrewing. Don't use acid. When all else fails, try Heat! but only if it can be done safely. Heating or Heating and Cooling can free a stuck pipe. If the pipe screws into a fitting, try heating the fitting, it will enlarge and help break the corrosion bond.
Do you mean plumbing? If you have a blocked drain, the method is to CAREFULLY pour some Muriatic (Hydrochloric) acid so that it sinks into the drain through the backed-up water. Give it time to work. You should see bubbles coming from the drain as the acid works on the clog. These are bubbles of hydrogen gas. The area should be well ventilated, as hydrogen gas is explosive. No smoking or flames, please.
Penetrating Oil - it's made just for your purpose!
See the link.
One time my motorcycle engine froze up.
Bouncing up and down on the kick starter would not budge it.
Took spark plugs out squirted penetrating oil in and waited two days.
Went out and jumped up and down on the kick stater and if finally turned over.
Saved me from buying a new motor!
