Describe the preprocess for nitriding of parts made out of EN 41B?

After nitriding can we get surface hardness 800 to 900 Hv on a Pin having size of dia.7.5 mm x 20 mm long.

Answer:
En 41B steel also known as nitriding steel is widely used in plastic industries to make screws and barrels. Most of the screws and barrels wear due to the impact of hard filler materials and exposure to high temperatures and pressure of the flowing plastic melt. The typical life span of these components can be increased manifold by increasing the surface hardness of the components. There are several techniques available to harden the surface, but the most widely used technique for screws and barrels is gas nitriding process, but is now currently replaced by plasma nitriding process.
This isn't the place for this sort of question. Look it up in your technical texr books. What do you think this is,a technical college or something?
Pl. refer www.key-to-steel.com for relevant information on nitriding . The pin of EN41B can be nitrided to have case hardened . Selection of any of the process gas/ salt bath/ plasma etc. depends on time available for the hardening process. The plasma process is quicker .
