What uses more electricity?

I have one of them air conditioners in the apartment thats built into the wall. Its 12,000 btu and it has a dehumidfier w/ it which cools our apartment off in like 20 minutes and we just leave that on all day. The aircondition part however takes forever to cool the place down. Which uses more eletricity to run?

Answer:
Probably the in-wall unit. It is far less efficient. I wouldnt recommend leaving it on all day either.
cool it down with the window thumper, and maintain the temp with the central air.
The problem here is that both the in wall unit and the dehumidifier are refrigeration units of a different kind. There is no mention of the temperature that you are trying to achieve. The air conditioner is a dehumidifier and a cooling machine. It removes the moisture from the air and brings down the temperature at the same time. The humidifier only removes the humidity from the air. As a result it actually puts some heat into the room.
Of course it does less so it uses less power. Dry air seems cooler to the body because it is able to evaporate the moisture from your skin.
