How do you work out concrete ( ton ) by volume of the hole ?

my area to fill is 13.3 m2 and 100mm (4 inches) deep. how much concrete do i need in (ton) and could you explane to me the formular to do this?? thanks for helping

Answer:
There is an interesting calculator here: http://www.allmeasures.com/formulae/stat...

They are assuming 2300kg/m³ for an average density, however, density can vary a bit depending on what aggregates available locally. 13.3m² x 0.1m = 1.33m³, this comes out to about 3 tons
Do you have the density of the concrete? If you do you can find the volume times it by the density and that will leave you with the mass
Normally concrete is ordered in cubic yards or cubic metres http://www.cement.org/basics/concretebas...
Excellent yet another question I have been meaning to ask.
Two in one night! :-)
Concrete weighs 2400kg/m3.
For formwork calculations I generally use 2500kg/m3 to include rebar and give myself a margin for error.

therefore 13.3 x 0.1 x 2400 = 3192kg
then use a conversion website of which there are many to decide if you want tons, tonnes, or any other value.
