Will a siphon work on a sewer??

sewers are gravity powered, will a 30" siphon work on a 60" dia. pipe??

Answer:
It should work just fine, provided the head (highest point in the loop) does not approach the height of vaccuum. For water, that is around 32 ft. For sewage, I would expect it to be less.

Either way that's a lot of sh-t to be siphoning. I hope you have a better way of starting it than sucking on it.

Good luck.
