Why don't we make emini electricity plants over sewages?

In addition to Ms Mystery's info, you also have to remember that the methane from these plants is not very consistent. It is dependent on many variables in its formation, but is not reliable as is a natural gas pipeline. Many wastewater plants use it for heating at the facility buildings, but it is not enough for major usage. Landfills do a better job, but there it is at best a supplement to existing sources, even from the largest sources.
Because like most "good ideas" the cost to actually build and maintain such a system would be more costly than using conventional energy sources.
There are methane collectors at some landfills and the collected methane is used for energy i think. Its called biomass. Compared to a sewage treatment plant though a landfill creates much more gas.
