How can I make multiple fans turn a generator to give me power to say light a bulb?
Give or take 10 fans.
Answer:
First of all, you would want your fans to be in a series circuit. Then you'll need to install generators on them. Generators work through electrical induction. For induction, you need a wire loop with a changing magnetic flux. In other words, you need a wire loop with either a magnet spinning in it so that the north and south polls change direction, or the loop spinning around the magnet. So, you can hook the fan up to the magnet or the loop (but not both). If you don't know about induction, you'll either need to learn a little about it through a google search, or just buy the generators. I would suggest buying them. They wouldn't be too expensive if they are small, but they would be a lot of work to make.
I assume you have a set of blades connected to a small motor.
This constitutes a "fan." Or more simply a "Wind Turbine."
Now put a diode (a 1N4004 diode) in one line and connect it to a light globe. (by this I mean connect the two resulting wires to the globe)
Repeat this with all the other fans.
The diode will prevent the electrical energy from one fan passing to the other fans and turning them (backwards) when they are not being powered by the wind.
