Egg drop help?
Answer:
A semi truck full of pillows! just kidding...
Make the largest/strongest container you are allowed. Make it out of several sheets of cardboard (if allowed). Hopefully with curved corners so that a corner doesn't collapse on impact. Next wrap 6 rubber bands around the egg and attach them to the opposite sides of the container - The tension should be realatively tight on all the rubber bands. As long as your container doesn't get smashed up your egg will be fine.

I wish I had a dollar everytime this project pops up. Check for the answer with a "egg drop" search.
a cup that has cotton in it. the cup absorbs the impact and the cotton keeps the egg from cracking.
stuff a large nalgene bottle with padding such as foam, paper etc. place the egg in the middle of the bottle
I've done this experiment before...
For compactness, use an empty soda can. Cut the top lid out and save it. Line the inside of the can with styrofoam peanuts, then cotton balls. After that, wrap the outside of the can with styrofoam peanuts as well. Then wrap the entire thing in tape, duct tape works well. Put more peanuts on the inside and outside of the lid and wrap in tape as well. Then snug the lid back over the secured egg (with more tape).
It can then land on its bottom and sides. Landing on its top might be iffy though. Good luck.
