What is Power Plant Automation?

I am supposed to make a project on Power Plant Automation, for which i need any useful information.

Answer:
Automation is simply making a process control without human intervention. Usually at the heart of any industrial automation is a PLC or DCS. PC based systems are available but tend to be unreliable, although the PC is used in conjunction with the PLC or DCS, in the case of the PLC this is often SCADA.

You can get more details by searching the Internet for the above acronyms.
That would have to be robotics doing all the work of operation and repair, leaving it unecessary for humans to assist.
