How to repair a leaking pipe ?
Answer:
*1st of all use the multiple wound of ptfe tape on it to minimise the leak.
Then use a pipe clamp which is to be clamped with soft rubber/pvc sheet.
It depends on the pattern of leak.
You can cover up the cracked portion by a box leaving two holes , one at top and one at bottom,so that leaked material will passed through it and does not affect bonding of the sides. Now, there are two options.
Theaded holes can be plugged.
fill the box with suitable material and clos the holes.
tape
Duct tape.
Find the best welder you can. Run beads down each side of the crack. Do this quickly and carefully so you don't flash too much water to steam or enlarge the crack. Using a ball-peen hammer, hit the weld beads repeatedly with the rounded end (called peening) to start sealing the crack. Allow the pipe some time to cool, and repeat. One pass will not effect the closure -- it may take as many as 10 repetitions to finally close off the leak. Finish with a single bead down the repaired crack.
WARNING: If the pipe is too badly corroded, or the procedure is not carefully done, this procedure will cause catastrophic failure instead, and bring about your plant shut-down.
In any case, the pipe, in fact, the entire line, should be replaced at the first opportunity
