Maths Question!! (Match the following eg. 1(p), 4(r) etc.)?

1) Two intersecting circles (p) have a common tangent
2) Two mutually external circles (q) have a common normal
3) Two circles, one strictly (r)don't have a common tangent
inside the other.
4) Two branches of Hyperbola (s) don't have a common normal

Answer:
Many interpretations of what is being asked. I hope my guesses at what would be interesting will help.

1. P,Q
There are always two common tangents to a pair of circles when the circles intersect

Two circles that are not concentric have a single line defined by connecting the centers. That line is normal to both circles.

2.P,Q
3.Q,R
One possibility is concentric circles. In this case there are many common normals rather than the implied one. I have associated Q here because a possible interpretation is "at least" one.
4.Q,R
